Community Involvement

Ways to get involved:

Attend West Side Summit Open House!

On November 16th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm West Side Summit is having an open house for local businesses and persons to further their community connections. We will be giving tours, have discussion time with our Principal Karen Klinzing & our operations manager Sarah Hanson, a panel of board members, a teacher, and student as well as materials about how to get involved with West Side Summit. Other open house dates include January 24, March 23, and May 19th.

Future Fridays!

Share your work experience with our scholars! Come and talk with our 5th and 6th graders about what you do, and what it is like to work at your organization. This would take place on any Friday that works for you. The time commitment is about a half an hour at the end of the school day (around 3:50). Download the Future Friday application and send to the community outreach and volunteer coordinator!

We have several volunteer opportunities including, reading buddy, library assistant, classroom assistant, and volunteer artist (to help us beautify our school). To learn more about these opportunities and how to become a volunteer visit our volunteer and giving page!

Write Letters of Support to our Scholars!

West Side Summit scholars are working hard everyday to reach their goal of college readiness. A letter of support from an adult makes a world of difference. We try our best to make individualized learning possible for all our scholars to ensure they learn and grow. It would mean a lot to them to hear words of support and encouragement.

Join our mailing list!

We send out bi-weekly newsletters updating our families and community on the progress and events going on at West Side Summit. Be in the know and sign up today!  Or sign up to get emails about our volunteer opportunities!

Host our Scholars!

We have had organizations host our scholars at their location and given tours, informational presentations, and done fun activities with them. All in support of empowering students to help them find joy in learning. Host West Side Summit today!

We welcome donations of school supplies, school materials, or direct donations. Give to the Max Day is November 17th, click here to sponsor our scholars hands on learning!

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, have questions, or ideas about other ways in which you would like to get involved with West Side Summit please call 651-200-4543 or email Anna Wagner
